Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about VideoBud
Billing
Yes. Cancel from your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then drops to the free tier with no further charges.
Comparison
Screen recorders capture what you click; VideoBud writes and shoots the video for you. No script-writing, no recording your own voice, no manual editing. And because the storyboard is editable scene-by-scene, you can re-shoot any individual step or swap in your own screenshot without starting over.
General
Yes — pick the 'Live demo (authenticated)' video type, enter your login URL, email, and password. The AI agent signs in, walks the actual product, and captures the authenticated screens. Credentials are held in memory only for the duration of that single discovery run and are wiped immediately after — they are never written to disk or logged. If you re-render later you will need to supply them again.
Yes on Starter and above. Paste up to 3 URLs (Starter), 10 URLs (Pro), or 25 URLs (Studio) into the intake form — one per line. The agent walks every page and merges all captured frames into a single storyboard, so you can stitch a homepage, features page, and pricing page into one cohesive promo video.
Yes on any paid plan. Upload your logo once on the storyboard page and choose a black or white background. VideoBud adds a ~2-second intro slate and ~2.5-second outro slate around your scenes in every final render. You can optionally include the video title on each slate, and both slates share the same logo and background color.
On Starter plans and above, yes. After a final render you can click 'Host this video' to get a permanent public URL at videobud.io/v/... and an iframe embed code sized for whichever format you need (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, or 4:5). The URL stays stable even if you re-render the same project — your existing embeds keep working automatically. Free-tier users can download the MP4 but cannot host publicly.
Yes. Toggle captions on when you create a video — the option is on the intake form. Captions are burned into the final render so they show up everywhere the video is played, including embeds. You can turn them off for any new video if you prefer clean visuals.
You can target 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 1.5 minutes, or 3 minutes — or choose "As long as needed" to let the script scale naturally to the content. Auto-length is capped at 3 minutes to keep videos tight. Credits are charged by the minute of finished video, rounded up.
Yes — choose from six music tracks when you set up your video: upbeat corporate, calm explainer, cinematic, tech pulse, inspirational, or no music at all. The music fades in and out automatically and softens under the narration so your voiceover always stays clear.
Yes. The storyboard stays fully editable after your first render — update any voiceover line, swap a screenshot, or redraw the zoom area, then render again. Draft renders are unlimited and free, so you can iterate as many times as you want. Final renders (which count against your monthly minutes) should be kicked off only after you're happy with the draft.
VideoBud supports nine video types: marketing promo, how-to/tutorial, onboarding, feature launch, troubleshooting, sales objection, changelog, customer story, and live demo (authenticated app walk-through). You pick the type on the intake form — it shapes the script structure and scene pacing so the finished video matches the viewer's intent.
No. If you choose "As long as needed" the video automatically caps at 3 minutes, even for multi-page projects with lots of captured screens. The AI samples the most representative frames across your pages and builds a tight storyboard — you won't get a 10-minute dump of every scroll position. You can always trim individual scenes on the storyboard page before rendering.
Your minutes reset on a 30-day rolling window starting from the date of your first final render — not the calendar month or your billing date. You can see your current usage and reset date on the dashboard.
Yes, on Starter and above. Once your video is hosted, the storyboard page shows total play counts broken down by format, plus a daily play chart for the last 7 days. Plays via embedded iframe are tracked separately from direct link views.
Each scene on the storyboard page has an upload button so you can drop in your own screenshot. Your image is automatically resized to fit the standard video frame. After uploading you can draw a new zoom area on your custom screenshot, then re-render the draft to preview the change.
Getting started
You point VideoBud at your SaaS application and tell us what kind of video you need — promo, how-to, onboarding, feature launch, etc. Our AI agent walks your app in a real browser, captures every screen, writes a script from what it actually saw, and produces a finished video with voiceover, zoom edits, music, and intro/outro. You approve the storyboard before we render the final.
How it works
You approve a storyboard before any final rendering. Each scene shows a thumbnail, the planned voiceover, and the zoom target. You can edit any voiceover line inline, and clicking "Re-shoot this step" clears the cached audio so the next render regenerates that scene's narration with your updated text. Final rendering only happens after you approve.
Output
Web (16:9 1920×1080), Reels/Shorts/TikTok (9:16 1080×1920), Instagram feed (1:1 1080×1080), and Instagram Reels feed (4:5 1080×1350). Every format is re-composed, not just letterboxed — vertical and square formats get their own crop pass so the framing actually works.
Pricing
1 credit = 1 minute of final rendered video. A 30-second video uses 0.5 credits, a 90-second video uses 1.5. Storyboard previews are unlimited and free — credits only get spent when you approve a final render.
Security
Only if you want VideoBud to walk authenticated flows like dashboards or settings pages. Credentials live in memory only for the duration of one discovery run and are wiped afterward — never written to disk in plaintext. For promo videos that only cover public marketing pages, no credentials are needed.
Voice
Not yet — voice cloning is on the roadmap. Today you pick from a library of eight AI narrators tagged by style: warm narrator, calm explainer, peppy creator, friendly host, and more. Each character has a 30-second sample you can audition before committing.
